![]() In general I agree with your assessment, there are a few specific cases where it can be very useful, though!įor example, against reactive armor or force field it can help a lot. If you take 2 hits to kill an enemy, crit but don't kill it, then AO has effectively given you a fake victory. If you take 3 hits to kill an enemy, crit on a hit, and now only need 1 hit? AO has effectively applied another hit. If it procs and you score a crit, that is worthless unless it lowers the number of hits required to kill that enemy. Unless you are doing 30+ combats a day, I'd build Kraken first based solely on combat capabilities.ĪO's value comes in decreasing the number of hits you have to put on an enemy. Is it the first combat GB you should build? Heck no. If your damage would normally be 7-9 then a crit will always 1-shot. ![]() Now, obviously I used artificial numbers. Ugh - so even with the crit, it's still a 2-shot, so that 10% I said earlier? Yeah, it's still a high estimate. On a 5 or 6 with a crit that's still 8-9 damage. You are still 2-shotting enemies, right? Well, you crit on your first attack, yay! Now your damage is 8-10. Plus, lets say your attack will do 5-7 damage. On average, that means that your 20% crit chance is actually only a 10% crit chance since half your crits will be on the 2nd attack and not the first. If your attack is high enough that you can 1-shot enemies with an AO crit, that means you are normally 2-shotting enemies (or already 1-shotting them). That means more fights in a day, and more prizes from those fights.ĪO is good but really overrated. ![]() I can probably pick up an extra 5 fights on a contested tile thanks to all those crits piling up. I can fight 2 or 3 battles at a time instead of resetting my army after each battle. If I come out of a fight only lightly injured, I dont have to spend vital seconds rotating in fresh troops. If 2 guilds are racing for a sector, whoever wins can cut off the other from the map for hours at a time. When a sector opens with 4 seige camps and no attrition, it will fall in minutes. If you have never played in diamond league on a top guild, it can be vicious. That is a lot of extra firepower going down range, which means a lot less hate coming my way when the enemy shoots back. On average in a fight, I have 8 troops attacking with a 25% chance of crit each. Troops that take damage have the amount of damage they can deal reduced. Those crits aren't just about the one shot (although that is a very strong function). In my opinion, as a very heavy GbG fighter, this building is worth every FP I've put into all of my 80 levels.
